Quick, easy, and delicious yogurt dip is perfect for the warmer summer days when there’s no time to fuss. Strawberries are starting to show up at the farmers’ market where you can always find fresh yogurt and maple syrup.
Whether a fancy party, picnic, or snack for the kids, this dip will fit in.
The recipe, from Healthy Seasonal Recipes, has everything local, well, expect the almond extract. I picked up plain Greek yogurt, fresh from Argyle Cheese Farmer. During the Washington County Maple Syrup Tour, I found amber maple syrup at Wild Hill Maple. These two ingredients are all you need. Add a little almond extract for a slight boost in flavor. This is heaven. Have fun dipping with fresh fruit.
I used Grade A Amber Maple Syrup, but use the maple syrup you prefer, just not pancake syrup. I like amber maple syrup for this dip because it’s lighter, sweeter, like vanilla or caramel. It’s the second syrup tapped from trees. The darker, richer maple syrup is tapped later. Amber maple syrup is a little difficult to find so pick it up whenever you find it, usually at a maple syrup producer not a store. When I visited Wild Hill Maple, and saw Amber Maple Syrup on the shelf, I grabbed a jar.
Enjoy. Warmer weather is coming.
